Figures are before any tax, bonus or cash-out rules your bookmaker applies. The bet slip on the bookmaker site is always the final word.
How to use the calculator
- Enter your stake. Type the amount in naira you plan to bet.
- Add selections. For a single, enter one price. For an accumulator, add a line for each leg.
- Read the results. The calculator shows total odds, total return and profit.
- Check implied probability. See what chance the odds suggest, and compare it with your own view.
How bet returns are calculated
Nigerian bookmakers use decimal odds, which makes the maths simple:
- Single: return = stake x odds. N1,000 at 2.50 returns N2,500, which is N1,500 profit plus your N1,000 stake.
- Accumulator: multiply all the odds together, then multiply by the stake. N500 on three legs at 1.80, 2.00 and 1.50 gives total odds of 5.40 and a return of N2,700.
- Free bet: usually the stake is not returned, so return = stake x (odds - 1). A N1,000 free bet at 2.50 pays N1,500.
Some bookmakers deduct tax or apply bonus boosts on winnings. Those vary by operator and over time, so the calculator shows gross figures; check your slip for the final amount.
Converting odds formats
| Decimal | Fractional | American | Implied chance |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1.50 | 1/2 | -200 | 66.7% |
| 2.00 | 1/1 (evens) | +100 | 50.0% |
| 2.50 | 3/2 | +150 | 40.0% |
| 3.00 | 2/1 | +200 | 33.3% |
| 5.00 | 4/1 | +400 | 20.0% |
- Fractional to decimal: divide the two numbers and add 1. 3/2 = 1.5 + 1 = 2.50.
- American positive to decimal: divide by 100 and add 1. +150 = 2.50.
- American negative to decimal: divide 100 by the number (ignoring the minus) and add 1. -200 = 0.5 + 1 = 1.50.
Moneyline odds in US sports use the American format, which is why a moneyline calculator is useful when you read NBA or NFL previews.
Implied probability and true odds
Implied probability is 1 divided by the decimal odds. Add the implied chances of all outcomes in a market and you get more than 100%. The extra is the bookmaker's margin. Remove it and you get closer to the "true odds" the bookmaker believes. For a 1X2 market priced 2.10, 3.30 and 3.60, the total is about 105.7%. Dividing each implied chance by 1.057 gives an estimate of the fair probabilities: about 45%, 28.7% and 26.3%.
Using it as a value bet calculator
A value bet is one where your estimated chance is higher than the implied chance. If you think a team wins 50% of the time and the price is 2.30 (43.5% implied), that is value. Over many bets, value is what separates a long-term winner from a long-term loser. Our betting strategy guide explains how to estimate probabilities in the first place.
System bets and arbitrage
A system bet calculator works out every combination in a system such as a 2/3 or 3/4. For a 2/3 system, three doubles are placed. If two legs win, one double pays; if all three win, all three pay. Our accumulator guide covers when systems make sense.
An arbitrage betting calculator checks whether backing every outcome at different bookmakers locks in a small return because prices disagree. To check, add the implied chances of the best price for each outcome. If the total is under 100%, an arbitrage exists. In practice these gaps are small, close quickly, and many bookmakers limit accounts that arbitrage often. Read our strategy guide before trying it.
Calculator tips
- Run the numbers before every accumulator. Seeing how low the chance of a ten-leg acca really is changes how people bet.
- Compare the same bet at two or three sites. Small differences in odds compound across a season.
- Use the calculator to set your stake from a fixed budget, not from how confident you feel.
Betting is for adults 18+. A calculator helps you understand risk; it cannot remove it.

Quick checks before you place the slip
- Type in the odds exactly as the bookmaker shows them, including decimals.
- Compare the potential return here with the figure on your bet slip. If they differ, check for removed selections, odds changes or tax and bonus rules.
- Look at the implied probability of the whole accumulator. If it is below a few percent, accept that the slip will lose far more often than it wins.
- Decide your stake from your budget first, then look at the return, not the other way round.

Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate betting odds returns?
Multiply your stake by the decimal odds. For an accumulator, multiply all the odds together first, then multiply by the stake.
What is implied probability?
It is the chance of an outcome suggested by the odds. Divide 1 by the decimal odds: 2.00 implies 50%, 4.00 implies 25%.
Does the calculator include tax on winnings?
No. It shows gross returns. Any tax or bonus boost depends on the bookmaker, so check your bet slip for the final figure.
What is a value bet calculator?
It compares your own estimated chance of an outcome with the chance implied by the odds. If your estimate is higher, the bet has value.
How does a free bet change the calculation?
With most free bets the stake is not returned, so you receive the stake multiplied by the odds minus one, which is the profit only.
