By "Free bet codes for today" means two very different things depending on who you ask. Some punters want a promo code that unlocks a free bet or bonus from a bookmaker. Others want a free booking code: a shared bet slip someone else has built, ready to load and stake on. Both are covered below: first today's free booking codes, shared when available, then how genuine free bet promo codes work at Nigerian bookmakers and how to avoid the fake ones.

Booking codes expire when the first game starts and odds can change. Check every selection on the slip before you place it. 18+.
Codes and slips are shared here when available. The selections are built from our published predictions, which are our editors' own reading of recent results and published stats, and each entry names the bookmaker it works on and the total odds at the time it was made. Booking codes are free to load: you still choose your own stake, and you can remove any selection you disagree with before placing the bet. Codes expire once the first match starts or when selections are settled, so use them on the same day.
Free bet codes vs free booking codes
| Free bet promo code | Free booking code | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | A code from the bookmaker that unlocks a bonus or free bet | A saved bet slip shared by a tipster or friend |
| Who issues it | The operator or its partners | Anyone with an account |
| Costs you | Nothing, but bonus terms apply | Your own stake |
| Where to enter it | During registration, in the deposit form or on the promotions page | The booking code box on the bet slip |
A free booking code does not give you a free bet. It simply copies the selections. If a site promises "free bet9ja booking code" and implies the bet itself is free or guaranteed to win, be careful.
How to use a booking code
- Log in to the bookmaker the code was created on. Codes from one site do not work on another unless you convert them (see our booking codes section).
- Open the bet slip and find the field labelled "booking code", "load code" or similar.
- Type or paste the code and confirm. The selections appear on your slip.
- Check every selection and the total odds. Remove anything you do not like.
- Enter your stake and place the bet.
Step-by-step guides for individual sites are on our Bet9ja booking code and SportyBet booking code pages.
How Nigerian bookmakers actually hand out free bets
Bookmakers in Nigeria use promo codes in a few ways:
- Registration codes entered when you open an account to claim a specific welcome offer.
- Deposit codes that attach a bonus to a particular deposit.
- Campaign codes for special events, sent by SMS, email or posted on official social media.
- Free bet vouchers credited automatically or as a code, often after you meet a condition such as placing a qualifying bet.
At the big local brands, most free bets need no code at all. Bet9ja credits its welcome free bet after a first qualifying bet (N2,500 free bet after first qualifying bet of N1,000). BetKing gives a small registration reward that includes free bets and Aviator free flights. NairaBet pays its first-deposit bonus as free bets that must be used on single bets at minimum odds, within a set number of days (100% first deposit bonus up to N10,000 in free bets (single bet, min odds 1.50, 7 days)). MSport pays its welcome value as football vouchers rather than cash.
The "promo codes" you see quoted for Bet9ja or BetKing are mostly affiliate tracking codes: different review sites publish different ones, and they usually unlock the same standard offer. That is why we record a promo code only when the operator itself publishes it. The current welcome offer and any official code for each operator appear in the table at the bottom, updated as offers change.
Five free bet terms that decide what you keep
- Stake not returned. With most free bets, a win pays only the profit, not the free bet amount itself.
- Minimum odds. Free bets often require selections above a certain price.
- Expiry. Free bets usually expire after a set number of days.
- Eligible markets. Some exclude virtuals, casino or certain sports.
- Withdrawal rules. Winnings may need to be wagered before you can withdraw.
Read the full terms on the operator's site. If anything is unclear, ask customer support before you deposit.
"VIP" booking code sellers and other scams
Free bet codes attract scammers. Common tricks include:
- "VIP" booking codes for sale with fake winning screenshots.
- Promises of "fixed" or "100% sure" codes. These do not exist.
- Requests for your account login, OTP or BVN to "activate" a code. Never share these with anyone.
- Fake bookmaker pages or apps that collect your deposit.
Only enter promo codes on the official site or app of a licensed operator, and only use booking codes that you can inspect selection by selection before staking. Betting is for adults 18+.
Sites that support booking codes and free bets
The operators below support booking codes and run regular promotions. Check the current offer, any promo code and the accepted deposit methods (bank transfer, USSD, card, OPay or PalmPay) for each one.

Frequently asked questions
Where can I get free bet codes for today?
Free booking codes are shared in the daily feed on this page when available, built from our published predictions. Genuine free bet promo codes come from the bookmakers themselves through their promotions pages, official social media and SMS.
Is a free booking code the same as a free bet?
No. A booking code copies selections onto your slip, but you still stake your own money. A free bet is a bonus stake credited by the bookmaker.
Do I need a promo code for the Bet9ja free bet?
No official code is needed for Bet9ja's standard welcome free bet, which is credited after a first qualifying bet. Codes quoted on review sites are affiliate codes that vary from site to site.
Can I use a SportyBet booking code on Bet9ja?
Not directly. Each code works only on the site where it was created. You can rebuild the slip manually or use a code converter, but check every selection afterwards.
Are paid booking codes worth it?
No. Sellers show only winning screenshots and there is no way to verify their record. Free codes whose selections you can inspect one by one are the safer option.
