The Mines game takes the idea of the old Minesweeper puzzle and turns it into a casino game. You see a grid of hidden tiles. Most hide a gem or star, a few hide a mine. Every safe tile you open raises your multiplier; hit a mine and the round is lost. You decide when to stop and cash out. It is quick, simple and very popular as a mines betting game on Nigerian casino sites.
Many studios make a version. Spribe's Mines, from the same provider as Aviator, is one of the most widespread, and other studios and casinos have their own. The rules below apply to almost all of them.
How to play Mines
- Set your stake. Minimum and maximum bets are shown in the game and set by the casino.
- Choose the number of mines. The grid is usually 5 by 5 tiles. You choose how many of them hide a mine. More mines means a higher multiplier per safe tile, and a higher chance of losing on every click.
- Start the round and open tiles one at a time.
- Cash out whenever you like. Your stake is multiplied by the multiplier shown for the number of safe tiles you have opened.
- Hit a mine and you lose the stake. The board then reveals where all the mines were.
How the number of mines changes the game
| Setup | What it feels like |
|---|---|
| Few mines (1 to 3) | You can open several tiles safely most of the time, but each tile adds only a little to the multiplier. |
| Medium (around 5) | A balance between frequency and size of wins. Each extra tile is a real decision. |
| Many mines | Even the first click is risky, but a couple of safe tiles produce large multipliers. |
Whatever you pick, the payout table is built so the house keeps an edge. The game's RTP is stated in its rules; check the info screen at your casino, because providers can offer more than one configuration.
When to cash out
This is the only real decision in Mines. A useful habit is to decide your target before the round, for example "three safe tiles, then cash out", and stick to it. Changing your plan mid-round after two lucky clicks is where most losses come from. Remember that the mines are placed randomly at the start of every round. A tile that was safe last round is not safer now, and corner tiles are not "luckier" than middle ones.
Mines demo and free play
Many casinos offer a Mines demo, sometimes called mines casino game free or fun mode. Use it to get a feel for how quickly the multiplier grows with different mine counts. Demo boards are random in the same way as real ones, so demo results tell you nothing about future rounds.
Why Mines predictor bots cannot see the board
Search "mines game" on social media and you will find predictor bots claiming to show where the mines are. They are scams. Provably fair versions of Mines fix the mine positions using seeds before you click and let you verify the round afterwards. That makes the game checkable, not predictable. Predictor sellers take a fee, ask for your login or push you to register through their affiliate link. Never share your password or OTP.
Mines at SportyBet, 1xBet and other Nigerian sites
Mines is usually listed under instant, crash or "mini" games, so search the casino lobby for "Mines" to see which version a site carries. SportyBet, licensed nationally (NLRC licensed, License No 0001014), groups its instant games under Sporty Games next to Aviator; because Mines rounds are short and winnings small, its free and usually automatic withdrawals are a practical advantage. Bet9ja and BetKing keep instant games inside the same app as the sportsbook.
1xBet, 22Bet and Paripesa, licensed in Lagos State, tend to carry several Mines versions from different studios, so check which provider you are opening; the RTP and maximum multiplier can differ between versions. Their cashiers also list more methods, with 1xBet and 22Bet adding crypto to the usual naira options.

Frequently asked questions
How do you play the Mines game?
Choose a stake and the number of mines, then open tiles on the 5 by 5 grid. Each safe tile raises the multiplier. Cash out before you hit a mine to win your stake times the multiplier.
Who makes the Mines casino game?
Several studios make Mines games. Spribe's Mines, from the maker of Aviator, is one of the most widely available; other providers and casinos offer their own versions with different RTPs.
How many mines should I choose?
No setting beats the house edge. One to three mines gives frequent small wins, around five balances frequency and size, and many mines make even the first click risky.
Do Mines predictors work?
No. Mine positions are fixed randomly before each round. Provably fair versions let you verify a round afterwards, not predict it. Predictor bots are scams.
Where can I play the Mines betting game in Nigeria?
SportyBet lists instant games under Sporty Games, and 1xBet, 22Bet and Paripesa usually carry several Mines versions. Search the lobby before depositing.
